By now, most of us have heard about the Alberta Sovereignty movement. Some people are very supportive, and some are quite opposed. However, most Albertans are in the middle.

The sovereigntists call them the “mushy middle.” I don’t think it’s that simple, nor is it constructive to alienate the majority with ridicule for their sentiments.

Many understand that Alberta has been and is being taken advantage of, and they’re totally ready to terminate their identity as Canadians. They can see how badly we’ve been abused, and they want nothing to do with Canada. Totally understandable.

I’ve been to town halls discussing separation, and some people want to separate so they don’t have to pay taxes anymore. Others are skeptical because they don’t want to lose their pensions.

There are plenty who have family or financial relationships throughout the other provinces and don’t want separation to disrupt their lives.

Then some want to keep their children from tumbling over the moral precipice into the woke wasteland that has swallowed up the rest of Western civilization.

Others argue against “giving up on Canada” and act like Albertans are separatists, and are walking away from a marriage instead of working on it. I heard one old cowboy say that he knows perfectly well what a raw deal Alberta is getting, but he just can’t give up on Canada.

All these arguments are understandable.

I’ve also talked to people who used to be very strongly pro-Canada but, with dismay, have realized that it’s over, and if Alberta doesn’t get off the sinking ship, everyone will perish. They’re conflicted because they wanted Canada to work and spent most of their lives expressing and experiencing patriotism for their homeland, and now, while others accuse them of treason, they’re wondering themselves if they aren’t betraying their heritage.

A region, state, or province becoming a NEW independent nation is rare. Very few have experienced a peaceful, national transition in their lifetime. It’s uncharted territory, and it makes people nervous.

We all want safety, prosperity, and health for ourselves and our families. We’re all affected by fears, sentiments, culture, religion, and other reasons.

I would like to talk plainly about the issue. To do that, we first have to put away self-preservation, prejudice, and preference. Let’s be fair about what’s happening. Imagine Alberta is someone you care about, and see how you feel about her being treated this way.

There is zero justification for the way Alberta has been treated. We’ve been taken advantage of since we became a province. Nearly half of our taxes are whisked away to other provinces to “equalize the outcome,” regardless of whether those provinces are working hard or even declaring their income fairly, and there’s little to no evidence that the money is serving those who are in need.

Alberta has slaved away, giving hundreds of billions without receiving anything in return for nearly a century, while being told they’re helping out the less prosperous provinces in a just and meaningful way. Admirably, most Albertans are okay with this, but they don’t realize that over half of the money vanishes. The money disappears without a trace. Billions of dollars go missing, and no one benefits but crooked globalists and their complicit minions. Even when they’re caught red-handed with conflicts of interest, money laundering, and corruption, there is no equity for everyone because the abused members of Canada have no political power or judicial recourse.

We have paid billions more in E.I. and CPP than any other province has been required to pay. We are supposed to be able to recall the surplus. None of the politicians is able or willing to make it happen. The plight of the individual Albertan is totally ignored.

We’ve tried to compensate for the disparity by working even harder and trying to develop our energy industry, but every pipeline is blocked because we’re told that our oil is “dirty.” Meanwhile, Canada is importing oil from nations that don’t give a damn about the environment. We’re held back from reaching our potential, and the surplus we’re still able to create is taken from us without any appreciation. On the contrary, we’ve been despised.

This is a huge problem. You can’t abuse a family member without expecting their patience to run out. Take it far enough, and they’ll renounce you as “family.” It happens all the time.

So what do we do? I’ve experienced in my personal life that you can’t stick around to try and “fix” your family into treating you properly. However, I’ve also experienced that bitterness and spite don’t produce positive results either.

Whether you’re a “Biblical person” or not, let’s consider the story of Joseph in the Bible. He was the second youngest of twelve, despised by his brothers, who sold him into slavery at a young age.

Joseph did well in slavery and eventually and miraculously rose to power in Egypt at a critical time in history, preceding a widespread famine. His God-given wisdom and understanding spared Egypt and the surrounding lands from starvation. Joseph even spared his own brothers from starvation. He easily could have taken revenge, and he would have been justified. But he had the victory when he forgave his brothers, fully understanding that though they did what they did out of jealousy and spite, the Lord had planned for Joseph to save his whole family and the known world.

Yes, Joseph had to be separated from his family, but he was separated so that he could go ahead of them and orchestrate their salvation. His brothers meant their action for evil, but the Lord meant it for good.

I say the same is true for Alberta. This isn’t about “Make Alberta Great Again!” This isn’t about “Alberta First!” This ought not to be about spite or revenge, though it’s arguably justified. This is about Alberta fulfilling its destiny. We were born for this. We’ve suffered the immorality, envy, and contempt. We’ve tolerated the slavery and abuse. And now it’s time to be separated, but not for our own sake. It’s for the sake of our brothers and the whole world.

Separating Alberta isn’t about condemning Canada or those who choose to remain with it. It isn’t about prospering while others perish. It’s not about vengeance against the people out East. This is about being raised up for our calling. Becoming independent isn’t just about freedom. Joseph wasn’t freed from prison so he could live the rest of his life on the beach. It wasn’t just about Joseph being vindicated, though he most certainly was. Alberta needs to be free so it can fulfill its sober calling to save the rest of Canada.

So, if you’re for Alberta independence, then be sober about your calling. Don’t be bitter with those who disagree with you. Let them know you’re not against Canadians. You’re not against Canada. Tell them that the only chance of survival Canadians have is their younger brother rising up to save them.

Our Prime Minister is on camera talking openly and unapologetically about cooperating with communist China to usher in the New World Order. Ottawa does not have the best interests of any Canadians in mind, nor does China. Not at all. A new Alberta is the only chance Canada has to be a free country.

But first, it’s time for us to clean up our own province and set things right. After that, we can be a lighthouse in dark waters for our lost brothers. It’s time for Alberta to separate and gain sovereignty over its wealth for the benefit of all. It’s time for justice and fairness, mercy and wisdom, and freedom and prosperity.

If your motive for separation is being able to do whatever you want, give your head a shake. We’re not here for ourselves. We weren’t blessed with a huge abundance of resources, just so we can roll in cash and live it up. We haven’t had our character and work ethic developed just to get rich. We have an obligation to God and man.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself! That is our duty, our obligation to both God and neighbor.
